Ben SaysMostly in the people and books I choose to surround myself with, but really like Frank says it can come from anywhere. I mean I’ve never thought to myself OK, now it’s time to go find some inspiration.
Frank SaysThe interesting thing about this question is that everyone answers it the same, yet everyone still asks it. So, I’ll fulfill my obligation and say: Oh, you know. Just everything in my day-to-day life and the people that surround me. The grocery store, walking down the sidewalk, the leaves on the trees, that one article I read in the New Yorker last week, that one album by that one band, and a conversation I had with a friend yesterday at that one place.

Dear Ben & Frank
Don’t either of you find this to be a bit pretentious?
Question Submitted by Anonymous
Ben SaysI do not. After answering multiple emails a week with similar questions over and over it became obvious that people wanted information. I believe a lot in openness and transparency of information and the exchange of ideas, and this website allows for that. How is it any more pretentious than any other design blog that publishes their opinions and agenda? Here at least other people have a much more active role in the site by submitting questions they help determine the content of the site.
